tsk- rubbish puter!

You would not believe how many times i try to upload on here and walk away cursing!! My PC is as rubbish as I am- no worse! So it is it's fault I haven't uploaded in a week. Here's one of Andrew sporting his first gap.
It's pouring with rain outside and thundering a lot- don't you love British weather. If you do not hail from the UK, you may not know what I mean but yesterday was 30 degrees Celsius with glorious sunshine and now I can barely see through the window with rain! But then what would we Brits do withoutp the weather to talk about! What ho!

Time flies

One thing about scrap booking is how aware it makes you of time! How quickly it goes. how little you have! The layouts are of the kids doing their first school run. Emma's was last September and she will be in year 1 next term. No longer the youngest in the school.it went so quickly but she has been having a ball! Andrew's, as ever, is a bit longer- but it's gone just as quickly.next term he actually leaves infant school and goes up to year 3 in the junior school. I hope he will be happy there, he is quite a sensitive little soul! So that's them both moving on and me still pretty much doing what I've been doing for I don't know how long! Time to sort myself out I think!

some thing old...

....but something new! This layout that is! It's been lurking for a couple of years and looked pretty much as it does now but to messy looking and not embellished. so that's all I've done. A few week's back( I think) on UKS the Scrap Factor competition had a them inspired by movies/tv. A you can see I used that inspiration a while back now- one of my fave films " The Usual Suspects" The main inspiration being the suspect line up and title- plus a case file! Hope you like the idea! Brand spanking new...

layouts!I did these last night. I scrapped this one of Andrew, I felt like a mean mummy not doing one of him for so long and then couldn't resist doing a girly one. I seem to keep them simple these days for speed- the leaves on Andrew's were made from paper clay ages ago- but fit in perfectly with the buttons. Hope you like xx

Thinking about being sunny

The weather here is teetering on nice but there are dark clouds hovering trying to spoil it, so i thought I'd brighten up my blog with some pretty flowers. On a layout!
poor old Andrew doesn't get a look in these days- but a lot of that is down to pulling grotesque faces when i get a camera out! So it's another one of Emma with one of her best friends. such cute pictures- Emma is Livvy's "girly" friend because she doesn't do girly stuff- yuk! As Emma is the ultimate in girly this is a complete case of opposites attract- Emma is Cinderella/ Rapunzel and Liv is Buzz Light year!Does take all sorts doesn't it!I hope it doesn't spoil the page but I've blocked some of Liv's face for her privacy. Thanks for dropping by! xx

A layout!!

Where did the weekend go? I worked this Saturday so this is the first chance I've had to blog in peace! This is one of my most recent layouts. As you can see,it's all about the beautiful photo of Em, taken by my friend Anne. I've tried to keep it very simple- the main bit of detail s the heart which I've sewn with a leather cord- not a great idea I can tell you! Numb fingers trying o pull it through. i've finally photographed this and others so will hopefull get round to posting them soon! TFL xx

Another Father's Day card

Well Carole said her Dad doesn't like golf- but I know she likes bunting- so this could be a good alternative! I've used the same materials for this card but used a punch to make bunting flags instead. Will post a card for green fingered Dad's next!

An experiment

For almost as long as I've had this blog, I've had an etsy shop by the same name! And it's been as successful!-LOL. Actually, I shouldn't knock it- I made a sale! A set of cloud embellishments- it covered the cost of postage and possibly making them, but sadly the total wasn't enough for me to take the money from my paypal balance- it needs to be over £6 and I made £1.69!! So my sale sits in paypal limbo!I So I thought I might put these pre made layouts on etsy and see what happens. You never know- someone may decide they like them!
Thats been one of the thing stopping me crafting so much recently. Being a SAHM meant I only went to work one day a week. Now the kids are at school I have to make some decisions about what to do with my life- something many people go through. If my work were up for it I could increase my hours- downsides being a) They prob aren't and b) I love being able to work during the week but if one of the kids has an inset day or is sick I'm in a horrible position trying to get time off or organise childcare (like most mums) So the obvious answer is doing something I like at home. Like this! What a superb idea! I must be the only crafter to think it!! NOT! So we'll see. Maybe it's a goer or a complete pipedream. But it's fun trying- in fact have you tried yourself? Any hints or tips? catch you later! xxx

Welcome!!

So welcome to my old/new blog! it's been sitting here since I got my lampworking kit in 2008! It had a total of 7 posts in that time showing you how well I had done with all things crafty!! Hadnt done very well- had I!!lo! So I'm going to try harder. Try and show some scrapbook pages, some cards and hopefully a few makes and classes. many moons ago I was doing all that at the one time- on design teams, doing mag work and contributing to inspiration blogs. And I realised how much I miss it! I miss it because it kept me going creatively- I loved the challenge and the interaction you got from people doing those kind of things. Over recent years it's been a case of scrap when I feel like it- which wasn't often. So hopefully thats going to change! I have a pile of layouts just being finished off, some oldies that never saw the light and plenty of cards because thats been what I mainly do these days!

So here is one of my most recent cards- father's day is looming! Quite a simple but it looks pretty cool- no frills! the golf ball is a pearl. Anyway thanks for visiting, I'll be adding bit's here and there so do pop by! Laura x
