Almost time for an Advent Treasure Hunt!

Thought I would share a Christmas creation! And dare I say....it's genius! It started out looking like this....
and  with a bit of ink, spray enamel, embossing powder and a heat gun it started to look like this.....

I used Fancy pants paper, buff card and buttons, Karen Foster stickers and bling to pretty it up. Then I tamped and rubbed on numbers. Then the tricky bit....turning it into a treasure hunt. My kids love treasure hunts!! Any excuse! So this is the genius part....clues on the back....so they have to find their advent treat! Instead of instant gratification the troops will have to hunt for it!! Fun! :-) Hee hee!

Shame on me!

I can't believe how long it is since I blogged!Time flies when you are working, trying to decorate etc etc. Almost no time to craft recently which is shameful considering I now have a working craft room- which I still
need to photograph! This is a card I made last week-so I haven't been completely out the loop. I had a busy day though and spent time on my treasure hunt advent calendar! Pics to follow soon! Thanks for dropping by if you still are! L x

Day job

I thought I'd show you some of the highlights of my day job. I'm what I would discribe as an instore interior designer  (without the drawings etc!) I work in a department store as a home design advsor nd help customer decorate their homes, advisng on colour and style etc. It's a lovely job and a highlight is to visit the showrooms in Chelsea Harbour and swoon and stroke the new fabric collections. So I took a couple of piccies.

These are fabrics from Colefax and Fowler nd they are GORGEOUS!! Sorry, had to shout that!

This is a vintage printing block ( have a bit of a thing about printing blocks!) that inspired the wallpaper design next to it from Cole and Son. Drool!

So that's some of my work stuff. My need to use some idea's for upcoming pages!! TFL XX

An Ace card

A recent card I've made which turned out pretty ace! After all my birthday cards last week I got my final pressie which I was just waiting to put a last bit of money towards!! A Slice!!!! Joy!!!!!! I LOVE it! It's pink and clever and I WILL USE IT LOADS!! I also have arranged to visit Stitch (see previous post) to wish him luck and see him well and cared for. He has people interested in giving him a home so  I'm happy it's turned out so well. Finally- the craft room is happening again! I have four walls and have chosen a wallpaper, I also have bar stools to go with kitchen cabinets! It's all good here!!

A hopeful happy ending?

Look at this beautiful boy!! His name is Stitch and he is the stray a helped rescue back in April. i posted a b out it here.
I've been checking the RSPCA sight ever since in the hope of seeing him and tonight I found him!! I'm so happy as he had an awful wound and I worried he might not be ok. But he is and his details are here Could you be his next home? I wish I could but don't think homing him with my two and living near his old home would be possible.I so want a happy ending but this is a good start!!

spamalot!

I seem to be under siege from spammers so have changed to an open id setting- hopefully that will help should you want to say hello! (Please do!!) I'm trying to avoid the word verification which I can't stand so we'll see if this works. I've had a lovely day with Emma. Andrew's at camp and DH is flat out working on his masters. Def due a holiday! Has worked his socks off! I've been working on a page today but thought I'd share tjis on that I did last week. Old shot of Emma that somehow missed a scrapping session. also got a lovely email today which has left me rather excited (very!) but I'll save that for later! Pop back soon xx

For a bookworm?

Came up with this card for someone who likes books and is male. They can be quite hard to do!

So this is 3d to look like a little book with a the start of a story all about the recipient. Quite fun and easy to do- may be doing a one of these for all the men in my family!

Friday, June 22, 2012

Bored.com

Maybe it's because I've had things to do over the last few days but nothing planned today other than homework and day to day house/childcare but I have been sooooo bored! I did this layout yesterday so didn't even have that to occupy me! I discovered http://www.merlyimpressions.co.uk/blog/scrapbooking/may-2012-challenge/ through facebook and thought I would give their sketch challenge a whirl.Fresh photo so an ideal time to do it. It looks like a great site so I expect I'll pay a regulr visit!

What a week!

Anyone want to bet that's what Her Majesty said today? An outstanding Jubilee which saw Andrew and I visiting the flotilla, Emma at a Jubilee birthday party and a visit to Nana and Grandad with Daddy. A scrummy tea next door and then a quiet visit to a Roman museum today. Lovely!Plenty of pictures ready to scrap now I have a new printer! Watch this space. My crafty offering? You know I love making baby cards. The only thing nicer tahn making one for a friends niece is making one for my new nephew Remy! He's about 3 weeks old now and I got my first cuddle last week as I was poorly the 2 weeks before. And as expected- he's gorgeous!!Lot's of celebrations at the moment!

Thursday, May 3, 2012

Whoa!

It's scary when you leave your blog to it's own devices and come back to find it all looks different behind the scenes! I can't find spell check so sorry!! Been busy with this and that so crafty stuff has taken a back seat. As has pushing Bubbaboobits. If you've tried it yourself I'm sure you'll agree that trying to make money is not compatible with crafting unless you are one of the lucky ones or great at self promotion. I'm no so much! So I'm still going to do the odd card for friends but have bitten the bullet and increased my day job hours.I feel like I'm turning tail and accepting defeat but hey ho-money must be made and at least it's good job, so hopefully it's the right way to go. Maybe I can just focus on having fun with crafting now. This is a card I made for my friend, for her new niece. Very girly and blingy! Hope you like!

Bless! I caught Grey!(That's what I've been calling him/her)The RSPCA lady is on her way to collect him and hopefully he'll have a better chance in life now. He' not very happy with me but is very calm and hopefully will be sorted out soon as his neck looks very sore and his nose is bit scratched too. I haven't seen him in over a week so didn't think it would happen but there you go- result! I hope I can find out what happens to him. Any hoo- catch you later!

Being pro active

Well I've had a busy morning and not a piece of paper in sight(boo!!) But I've beendoing good things. The picture of the cat is not one I've met but one that bears a strong resembelance to the one that's been living rough outside my garden. Sadly my one is not in good condition and I've been trying to catch him/her for several days with our cat carrier.I put posters up in the area to see if I could find the owners.( Had a nice suprise suprise moment built in my head that someone might phone, overjoyed that I'd found him) Sadly I discovered his owners, whose home also backs onto where he is sleeping, moved house and decided not to pack him! Niceeeee!! So I hve now got a RSPCA trap that I've been shown how to set.I'm armed with cat food and a wterproof cover and I'm determined to help the poor little guy. People can be really cr*p can't they!!He's beautiful but in really bad condition( injuries and matted :-( ) and I wish I could home him but given my two little tinkers would not appreciate company that won't be an option, but I'm hoping we catch him and help him out.

Now thats done I'm going to have to take the kids out for a vital club penguin membership(!!) and Easter activites to make. May get a bit of mummy craft in too!! Have you made your lollies yet?? Catch you soon! x

Welcome to the Hop!!

Welcome to the blog hop and thanks for stopping by! I'm have a scary Easter fact for you!(Whispers!) Not everyone likes chocolate Easter treats! Nooooo! How can that be??!! Any way, if you know one of these unusual peeps and want to give them a sweet treat read on and try my lolly bouquet! You will need about 6-9 lollies, coloured tissue, vellum and double sided tape.

Wrap your lolly head in coloured tissue.

Twist and secure with tape.

Fill a little tub or pot with a lump of plasticine. I've used an ice cream carton. Cover the inside with some tissue and then decorate the outside of the container.

Punch out 5 or 6 circles of vellum and attach to the double sided tape to make a flower.

Finally, you need to cut out some leaf shapes. Add some double sided tape to the end and you can add them to the lolly sticks or side of the pot for a bit more body. Pop your flowers in the pot and you're done.

And this is your finished bouquet! Quite sweet isn't it?

So we mentioned giveaway's! Well I'm doing a teeny little personal one. It's pictured below and includes a May Rd mini book,Tando Creative cutouts,8x8 vellum( for you to have a go!), a crafter'sworkshop 6x6 template and some cute wooden flowers that I use for everything!
If you would like to win then please leave a comment and link to the hop on your blog and I'll put you in the draw.If you'd like a 2nd go in the draw then please follow my blog as the people on the right look lonely there!! Just mention in your comment and I'll add you twice.!I'll draw a winner on Easter Monday.UK only I'm afraid.
